A Partridge Christmas wedding.

So what a time to write about a Christmas wedding than on Christmas itself.

Photography by Hannah Marie photography

This is a wedding very close to my heart due to the fact it was my twin sister Mia that got married. So compared to other weddings I have done this itself was a lot more personal to me.

So the night before the wedding we stayed at Orestone Manor in Torquay which is where we got ready on the day. This is a beautiful venue overlooking the sea, with a gorgeous bridal room and a beautiful four poster bed. Mia, compared to other brides, had a more laid back approach to hairstyles so I had more of a free rein with what I was able to do.

We did a trial in August and a practise run which we all loved but on the day we threw the ideas completely out the window and went for a hairstyle that was down and not up. As well as Mia, I was styling the gorgeous little flower girl (Harper) and the bridesmaid (Sasha.)

Make up on the bridal party was done by Glam Ward from Plymouth. If you are a bride to be around the Devon area she would be the girl to call. She is an absolutely lovely woman with a fab sense of humour and a really relaxed approach to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

So lets start off with the hairstyles..

Bride's hairstyle

We went for a very 'romantic' laid back half up half down style. I styled it so that the veil would sit comfortably without coming loose. I left some bits of hair around the face just to frame it a little more and as this is what Mia liked we decided to roll with it.

This was one of my quicker styles to date as it wasn't as complex as some that I have done. I added some curls to the bottom of the hair and then twisted the hair back on the crown. Simple yet effective and with the weather being on the colder side this helped the bride stay a little warmer than she would have had she had a complete updo.

Flower girl

Little Harper is only four and she has the best head of hair. Her floral crown is made by the Groom's mother so to leave that at the main focus I just added some curls. She sat incredibly well and made it so easy for me to style her hair.

Bridesmaid's hair

Sasha, like Harper, has a fantastic head of hair. However, unlike the bride, she came to me with an idea of what hairstyle she wanted. This was a little bit of volume at the crown with the hair pulled back from the face and twisted into the back of the hair. A very boho but still quite classy style.

Hair accessories are from New Look from their premium range.

With the whole theme of the wedding being Christmas this all suited and went together very well. I loved the little touches. From the little hand written name place cards to the beautiful naked cake surrounded by fake snow and miniature trees on a wooden barrel.

Here are some of the photos taken by Hannah if you are considering a Christmas themed wedding for year 2018.
